Winter Session Internship

Let's do something great together.

Wanted: Awesome, Ambitious, Motivated.

First Ascent is bringing on a winter intern!

The Project:
The winter intern will be working mostly on project management and social media marketing for a number of local clients. You will be coordinating a campaign and staff, and making sure all procedures are written and followed. You’ll be the magic that glues together multiple people and multiple talents to create a real deliverable.

Skills we’re looking for:

    • Organized
    • Polite
    • Fun to be around
    • Attention to detail
    • Comfortable asking questions
    • Comfortable writing
    • Comfortable receiving feedback
    • Able to follow direction
    • Able to figure things out (with a little help)

Position Description:
This is part- to full-time, 20-40 hours a week at an hourly rate and paid out weekly. This is a contract position. Start date is ASAP, likely Dec 17th. End date is February 15th, before classes at UD start up again. There is an opportunity to continue work during the semester.

We believe in remote work.
You’ll be added to a number of applications, like Asana and time tracking, so that work can be done almost anywhere and almost anytime. We expect you to come to the office once or twice a week, especially when getting your initial training, but otherwise work from home, a coffee shop, a coworking space, etc., we don’t care where you work. Time is flexible too. As long as there isn’t an event, meeting, or other thing scheduled, pull an all-nighter, get up a 6am, work 9-5, etc. are all up to you.

Some odd hours will be required, but we’re flexible.
We have a global team. Need to coordinate with the copywriter in Japan? That’s a 12 hour time difference so your chat will either be an early morning or late night. We’re flexible and used to working remote and distributed, and it’s easier than it sounds.

Must be comfortable with work.
Actually doing things. This isn’t a coffee-fetching assignment. This will have real work and real consequences, but also real support from the rest of the team. Remote work means we have to trust each other to get things done.

Must be able to travel.
Have a car (or a bike and some serious motivation?) because part of the job may be attending events around Newark and Wilmington. Offices are also Newark and Wilmington.

Must be ok with making phone calls.
Seriously, phones can still do that and it’s really useful.

Must be ok with dogs.
In fact, we prefer that you love dogs. This is our office pooch. His name is Bumi. How can you not love that face?

No longer accepting applications for 2018.
