Case Study
DCAD
Delaware College of Art and Design
Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) is a two-year premier art program founded by Pratt Institute and the Corcoran College of Art and Design located in Wilmington, DE.
DCAD’s website needed a navigation upgrade, engaging design features, and content-assistance for the portrayal of the college. What’s a college of art and design without an eye-catching website?
With the website and social media being the main source of information and promotion of events, admissions, and more, we knew it was time to hit the drawing board. Our team was thrilled to create a new website and manage multiple social media platforms for DCAD.
Scope of Work
- Market Research and Stakeholder Interviews
- Content Strategy and Information Architecture
- Website Copywriting, Design, and Development
- Organic Social Media Management
Approach
A key goal for the website redesign was to improve navigation and make information easier to find because all of DCAD’s marketing efforts point back to their website. We wanted to communicate DCAD’s value proposition by celebrating their students, faculty and staff, alumni, and community.
We started the project with extensive background research of the art college industry and DCAD’s competitors. We interviewed key team members from DCAD and asked other stakeholders to fill out surveys to gain a better understanding of their goals and vision for the website.
How We helped
The main challenge was to strategically simplify information architecture. Once we had all the details, we created a sitemap and content outline for the existing DCAD website. This copywriting process gave us a 360° view of each page, so we could re-organize it to best address the college’s goals. We were able to celebrate both students and prospects with a creative yet functional website.
The Results
Not only did we produce an award-winning website design, we also saw significant growth across all social media channels. There was an 8.5% growth in followers, with impressions increasing 3x across all social accounts. The website also received 10K+ monthly visits with strong session duration and low bounce rates.
