DelawarE Center For Justice

In 2020, the Delaware Center for Justice marked a century of fighting for progress, equity, and systemic reform. Founded in 1920 to lead bold reforms like improving detention conditions and abolishing the whipping post during a time of segregation and injustice, DCJ has expanded its mission alongside the evolving civil rights movement. In the wake of the George Floyd protests and a national reckoning around justice, DCJ saw an opportunity to raise its voice and reassert its commitment to systemic change. We partnered with them to create a bold new identity and website to amplify their mission and inspire action as they continue to help shape the future of justice in Delaware.

Symbolizing Progress Through Design

We created a new logo that reflects both strength and momentum. The bold, all-caps typography signals DCJ’s leadership in justice reform, while the word JUSTICE, highlighted in an orange block, puts their mission front and center. Three right-pointing arrows convey movement and progress, fitting for an organization always pushing forward. The dark blue in the brand palette honors DCJ’s legacy and long-standing trust in the community, while the vibrant orange adds a sense of urgency and energy. We extended the new look across print and merchandise to help the brand show up clearly and consistently, wherever the mission takes them.
