Case Study
Rodney Square Conservancy
The Rodney Square Conservancy is a collaborative effort between residents, government, and businesses in Wilmington, Delaware, all united by one goal: revitalizing and preserving Rodney Square for generations to come. When the Conservancy launched the Rodney Square Works Project in 2019—a multi-phase renovation of this iconic landmark—they realized it was about more than construction. They partnered with us to craft a website and social media strategy that would raise awareness, inspire community engagement, and build a foundation of lasting support.

Honoring History, Embracing Evolution
Rodney Square has been at the heart of downtown Wilmington for over a century, serving as an iconic gathering spot for the community. As efforts began to modernize its aesthetics and infrastructure, it became clear the square deserved more than a physical transformation—it needed a digital presence that could match its rich history and connect with the community in a whole new way. Our goal was to create a platform that would honor the square’s rich legacy, share updates on its revitalization and lay the groundwork for its continued evolution as a cornerstone of Wilmington.
Fusing Past, Present, and Future for A New Digital Experience
We brought Rodney Square’s story to life by weaving together historical insights about the district, interactive renderings of upcoming enhancements, and vibrant images and video of the square. The Conservancy’s website tells a compelling story that highlights Rodney Square’s past, present, and future. To build on the success of the website, we expanded the Conservancy’s reach by creating social media channels that mirror its story and mission. These platforms were designed to bring the same sense of community and connection to the digital space, amplifying their message and engaging with the people who love and use Rodney Square.
Over the years, we’ve continued to support the Conservancy with strategic messaging and campaigns. This work has included creating a messaging playbook, press releases, media advisories, social media content, print marketing materials, and local advertisements. From showcasing the square’s community impact to securing funding support from the local businesses, our efforts have been focused on strengthening connections and driving meaningful engagement.
A Connected Community That Continues to Grow
Since the project began, the Rodney Square Conservancy has achieved several major milestones, and we’re proud to continue supporting its mission. As part of our ongoing partnership, we create organic content for Rodney Square’s social channels, celebrating local events, businesses, and the square’s rich history and beauty. Since 2019, our efforts have helped grow the Conservancy’s audience and reach, building its Instagram and Facebook followings from scratch to thousands of engaged followers. Together, these channels have generated over 35,000 impressions, bringing more visibility to the heart of downtown Wilmington.
