Case Study
Zip Code Wilmington
Zip Code Wilmington is a nonprofit coding bootcamp that opens doors to economic opportunity through tech education. Its 12-week, full-time program is developed in partnership with employers to help graduates launch meaningful careers in high-demand tech roles. To showcase what makes the model stand out and better connect with prospective students, Zip Code partnered with us to revamp its website, streamline the user journey, and launch a rollout campaign backed by fresh messaging and digital assets.

Making a Standout
Mission Stand Out
With a strong nonprofit model and 78% of graduates placed in full-time roles within a year, Zip Code Wilmington needed a digital presence that matched the impact of its work. They wanted to better connect with prospective students, partners, and funders by highlighting what sets them apart: an employer-designed curricula, a commitment to job placement, and life-changing outcomes.
We helped Zip Code refine their messaging and restructure their website to support recruitment, partnership development, and long-term growth. The new voice is clear and accessible, moving away from overly academic language to better reflect the transformational nature of the program. By incorporating alumni stories and outcome data throughout the site, we made the student journey more tangible and relatable to new applicants.
Simplifying the Path from Site Visitor to Student
We redesigned the site to serve the needs of Zip Code Wilmington’s core audiences: students, funders, and partners. For prospective students in particular, we focused on making it easier to explore the program, understand outcomes, and start an application. We streamlined the navigation, added clear calls to action, and reorganized content around what matters most to applicants, including bootcamp structure, job placement results, and the admissions process.
Outdated PDFs were replaced with search-friendly web content, and tools like Calendly and Airtable were embedded to simplify scheduling and data collection. New sections introduced the team, outlined the application step by step, and highlighted community initiatives such as Zip Code’s high school outreach. A refreshed design improved readability and ensured a more intuitive experience across all devices.
Telling the Story Like It Deserves to Be Told
To support the website launch and help Zip Code Wilmington connect with key audiences, we developed a coordinated rollout campaign that brought visibility to their new digital presence. This included a press release, email announcement, and blog content, along with targeted social posts for students, alumni, partners, and donors. We created a toolkit with shareable copy, graphics, and images to make it easy for staff and advocates to promote the launch across their own channels.
While this project focused on the website, the impact extended beyond it. Clarified messaging, improved content, and stronger visuals are now helping Zip Code tell its story more effectively, engage new students, and deepen relationships with its broader community.
