Nicole cut her teeth as a contributing blogger in the early days of digital content marketing, eventually founding and running her own copywriting and content marketing agency. She joined First Ascent in 2022 to lead the marketing team in executing web copy projects, social media and email campaigns, and digital ads.
At First Ascent Design, Nicole helps clients translate their complex ideas into compelling, accessible content that resonates with audiences. She’s known for building strong, collaborative relationships with clients, always beginning with thoughtful questions and a focus on listening first. Clients and team members trust her sharp eye, her instinct for asking the right questions, and her ability to lead creative teams toward bold, effective ideas.
Fun fact: A piece that Nicole wrote went viral in 2017 with the “email switching experiment”, when she switched email signatures with a male coworker at a previous job to highlight how different genders are perceived in the workplace. They wrote about their experiences and observation, garnering 250,000 views and shares across Twitter, Vox, Medium, Newsweek, and the BBC. (But she can’t show the Newsweek piece to her mom, due to some salty language.)
